I can't see the card!
You need a plugin for your browser to view our cards. All card pages come with a paragraph with what to do if you can't see the card. Flash cards have a little logo next to the paragraph if you can't see the animation there - you just get a blank box - then you need a Flash plugin.
You can download a flash plugin directly from Macromedia.
If you are trying to view our puzzle cards you need a Java plugin. This can be downloaded directly from Suns Java site.
I have a plugin and STILL can't see the card!
Make sure you have the latest version of flash. Our cards use Flash 5 and
6. If you have an old plugin you will need a later version. Go to Macromedia and get a new one.
If you are running more than one type of browser on your computer (e.g. Netscape and Internet Explorer) you need a plugin for BOTH. The plugin associates itself with a particular browser so if you downloaded and it attached to Netscape you still won't see the card using I.E. Use the browser you have the plugin for and get another for the other browser. Yes we know it's a pain but thats the way they wrote it.
I tired to send a card but I keep getting an error why?
Most likely you are trying to send to a odd email address. If the address has special characters in it like "&" our server thinks it's a wrong address and can't send the card. We are looking
for a way to avoid this problem but as yet have not solved it.
Also if you have used the back button when you reached the ‘send card’ page and filled in the information. If you then use the forward button to get back and then try to send the card it often really confuses the poor server (it's only a machine after all!) Go back to the catalog page (the one with all the little pictures on it) select your card and try again.
If you are still having problems please complete the error form and send it to us. PLEASE DON'T send use emails like ‘help I’m having a problem’ - end transmission. We are not psychic (if we truly were I doubt we would be running a greeting card site) we need solid information about what kind of error you had and what you did. It's impossible for us to help you if you don't tell us exactly what the problem is and what you did to get there.- yeah we know it's hard but please do your best.
How do I know my card reached it's destination?
Always make sure you check the email address you are sending to and make
sure you typed it in right. On most occasions if you made an error you
will get a message sent to your email address (the one you entered in
the from field) telling you it could not be delivered for some reason.
(couldnt find the address, person not listed, persons mailbox was
full , etc.) If you tired to send to an email address with a special character
in (see above) you will most likely get a message with an email address
that contains the section before the special characters then part of our
address. This means that our server cannot at present handle this address
format. Sorry.
Why must I give my email address?
Well to start with the person you sent the card to might want to reply
and thank you. Everyone always wants to know where the card came from.
Our cards are formatted so that they appear to come from your email address.
This ensures that the recipient will open the email. With some much junk
mail being sent if a card came from our address it might get deleted unread
as an unknown and your card would be lost to the receiver.
Also if there are any problems with the sending of your card we can alert
you to that problem. If you don't give us an email address we can't tell
you if the card was not delivered.
Do you keep our email addresses?
No. Once a card has been sent and the messages delivered the address
is deleted. The only time a address is kept is if you sign up for our
card notification email list. Then we only use it to inform you of new
cards added to our site.
What kind of browser should I use for your site?
We check all our pages using Netscape and Internet Explorer and occasionally Opera. All in a windows environment. If you are using a Mac machine or different browser you may experience problems with the way different machines and browsers display pages. Since there is no industry standard for code on the internet each brand of browser has it's own set of rules and displays things slightly differently. We try to ensure that our pages conform to as many as possible but some of the less popular browsers ways may slip past us
I am nervous about downloading stuff to my computer are these plugins safe?
Both Macromedia and Sun are long-standing reputable companies. Their products are now industry standard and used all over the internet. You can feel very safe downloading directly from their sites. This is why our downloads point directly to them rather than to some second party vendor.
